Hey everyone! Welcome to Shanti's Voice!

My name is Shantelle.

Please call me Shanti.

Since I was young, I've had a certain way of and a passion for expressing my thoughts. I've told stories since a young age. My stepmom would tell others about how she and I met, "Shantelle came up to me, introduced herself, and, then, gave a synopsis of the last 9 years of her life." (She came into my life at the age of 9.)

Little did I know that she and I would spend the next 26 years integrated throughout each other's lives. She was a fixture in my life. I lost my stepmom a little over 7 years ago. I thought I took it hard when my Gma Sanders passed three years earlier. (Grief is a long process, even if it's been years.)

When that happens, I write. Mental health is a necessity. If I write out my thoughts, most times it's gone from my mind.

It's one of my coping mechanisms. It's healing for me.

My Mama is influential to me, as well. Mom always made sure I had every opportunity to learn. One summer, she signed me up for a poetry class at the Detroit Public Library. Another time, it was a creative writing course. All this helped me to improve my writing.

So, here I am world!

Shanti Marie. Nice to meet you!

  • You will get full disclosure. This isn't for the faint at heart. Life is HARD! Sometimes, crawling is moving too fast! Writings on this topic are included in my blog. There aren't many topics I won't discuss.

I write for those searching for encouragement, motivation, empathy, love, and more! I discovered and accepted who I am, not who someone else wanted me to be. I hope to share my struggles, mistakes, lessons learned, etc.

Any suggestions? Please share with me.

Thank you

Stay Blessed <3

Shanti Marie
